Imagination Connoisseur and frequent contributor, Omar 94, thinks there’s something forgettable about the music from Dinsey’s latest movie offerings. Why have songs from Tangled, Moana and other recent films failed to capture the hearts (and ears) of fans like their predecessors?
When it comes to the more modern Disney animated movies, I don’t find the songs to be as good and memorable.
I know Frozen’s Let It Go is a very popular song, but I think it is nowhere in the same league as the songs from the Disney Renaissance era, or even earlier.
Don’t get me wrong, there are songs I like from the more recent movies, like Tangled’s When Will My Life Begin and I See The Light, and Moana’s How Far I’ll Go and You’re Welcome.
I just don’t think they are as good as the older songs, like Little Mermaid’s Part Of Your World, Under The Sea, and Kiss The Girl, Beauty And The Beast’s Be Our Guest and Tale As Old As Time, Aladdin’s A Whole New World, Lion King’s Circle Of Life, I Just Can’t Wait To Be King, and Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Pocahontas’ Colors Of The Wind, Hercules’ Go The Distance, Mulan’s Reflection and I’ll Make A Man Out Of You, and Tarzan’s Two Worlds, Son Of Man, and You’ll Be In My Heart.
That’s just me. I’m sure others might feel differently.
Thanks, live long and prosper.
