Imagination Connoisseur, René Peraza, posits an alternate future that more closely resembles classic sci-fi from the 60s and 70s if disaster had not struck NASA’s Space Shuttle Program in the 80s.

Rob:

Finding out you’re also a massive fan of SPACE: 1999 as I am, it prompted me share my ‘pitch’ idea.

Imaging the tragic events of the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster never happened in 1986 and thus the ‘space race’ continued to match the technological time-frame of 1999, and maybe even loosely tied into 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY.

Obviously, an alternate reality, but hey, that’s what great Sci-Fi is all about. If so, I want the gig as Commander John Koenig!
