More and more film directors are re-cutting previous work to give their stories room to “breathe” – and one of the most successful at this has been Francis Ford Coppola. ROBSERVATIONS host, writer-director-producer Robert Meyer Burnett, talks how Coppola’s re-cutting of films like APOCALYPSE NOW, COTTON CLUB ENCORE (with new music) and now GODFATHER III (known as THE GODFATHER CODA – The Death of Michael Corleone) is making these films worth watching again.
RMB also provides updates on the upcoming Intergalactic Imagination Connoisseurs’ Film Festival and a new show on The Burnettwork – LET’S GET PHYSICAL MEDIA, plus dozens of letters from fans and live questions from viewers of the live stream.

Hi Robert,
Happy Thanksgiving!
Just watched your video on the new DC of Godfather III and it got me thinking:
Sylvester Stallone has confirmed he is hard at work on a new DC of Rocky IV due out some time in 2021.
However, I always felt Rocky V was the ‘Godfather III’ of that series: both were met with lukewarm reviews, released in 1990, were their series‘ ‘finale’ (for awhile anyway), featured Talia Shire, and had poor acting by Director’s children.
I know that V was not directed by Stallone himself, but original Rocky director, John G. Avildsen— but I feel this is the movie MOST in need of a fresh coat of paint. Especially the painful early 90’s commercial RAP music.
Have you ever heard anything about a new edit for Rocky V? Or any 4K scans/restorations for Rockys II or III for that matter?
Longtime fan—- have a great holiday!!
