At the time, the TNG episode, “Parallels” was an interesting exploration of the multi-verse concept and basic quantum theory. Little did anyone know it would be the foundation for the Kelvin-verse as it appeared in ST:2009.

This episode gave the production design team plenty of opportunities to try new things and bring back some of the old. Every time Lt. Worf changed realities, the TNG art department had an excuse to re-design everything from living quarters to characters.


Here’s a quick summary:
On his return from a bat’leth competition in the Klingon Empire, Worf finds himself shifting realities where events and details are in a constant state of flux and only he is aware of the changes.
