“Be as smart as a monkey. Use a tool.”

Dr. Mike Shertz is shown here training first-responders on how to use non-rigid litters for transporting victims during an emergency or mass-casualty event. He also demonstrates how to use available resources to make non-rigid litters for carrying bodies.

The premise is simple: carrying people is hard work. Carrying them with a litter makes the task easier.

Non-Rigid litters are lighter and easier to store than their rigid counterparts, but they are harder to use.
