Dean Micetich describes himself as “a life long fan of all things Science Fiction, especially Star Trek. I am currently living in the UK, but also lived in Germany and Gibraltar. (My Father was in the Royal Air Force.) I do digital art as a hobby, weather that be painting in Photoshop or creating 3D models in the free to use software, Blender.”
His submission …
As far back as I can remember, the first spaceship from a sci-fi show or film I remember seeing is Matt Jefferies iconic USS Enterprise. Though not my favourite Federation ship, she is in my top five and hold a special place in my hart.
I was recently watching Star Trek The Next Generation, season 5 episode Relics, and was getting in spired to open up blender. (Something I have not done in five years.) When Scotty goes to the hollodeck and asks to see the bridge of his old ship, the computer asks him to specify which ship and he gives the line:
“N-C-C-1-7-0-1. No bloody A – B – C or D”.
I knew, this is the ship I had to build.
The Enterprise was built in Blender and rendered out. The background in an imagine found on the internet and the original artist is unknown. Post work was done in Photoshop CS6.
For the second picture I wanted to turn the first into a poster. I though it would be cool to have the Enterprise flying out of the Starfleet Delta and this is the result of that idea.
